This article provides a scientific analysis of the role, methodological significance, and practical effectiveness of short-term studies (etyuds) in teaching the landscape genre in fine arts. Creating a landscape composition requires the artist to simultaneously demonstrate observation skills, the ability to determine color and light relations, spatial perception, and compositional decision-making. In this regard, 5-20-minute short etyuds serve as highly effective pedagogical exercises that allow quick analysis of the changing state of nature, identification of major color masses, definition of the direction of light, and clarification of the general composition. The article explains how short etyuds serve as a visual and artistic foundation for large-scale works, enhance students’ observation skills, strengthen decision-making abilities, and deepen their understanding of color and form relations. In addition, the emotional-expressive value of etyuds, their role in depicting the natural environment, and their psychological and aesthetic impact in art pedagogy are thoroughly examined.Downloads
