Abstract

This article provides a detailed analysis of the psychological and pedagogical characteristics of children with severe speech disorders of preschool age. The problems in the development of children’s speech, their causes, and individual differences observed in this process are highlighted. Also, detailed information is provided about the main directions, methods, and conditions for effective organization of speech therapy work. The article emphasizes the importance of cooperation between a speech therapist and parents, and reveals the role of the family in the development of a child’s speech. The author has developed practical recommendations for parents on the correct and effective completion of homework assignments given by a speech therapist. These recommendations serve to accelerate and strengthen the process of correcting children’s speech.
